You can spend a day wreck-fishing in the creeks,
the river mouth or
the rolling the reefs for the "even bigger one". |

If it's Barracuda, Lady Fish, Red Snapper, Grouper, Cassava, Captain
Fish, Butter Fish, Sun Pat, Stingray, Guitar Fish, Cat Fish - to
name but a few, just leave it to our experienced Gambian Crew to
drop anchor - they are better than any Fish Finder - or if you
prefer, have a lazy day cruising the calm waters of the creeks.

At the lodge you can see local women creating
'Tie
Dye' and Batik or see how a Jembe Drum is
made using skills handed
down over centuries.
Try your hand at archery with an authentic African bow or for the
more energetic hire our new mountain bikes and explore.

Bird watching is easy in The
Gambia, there are beautiful birds everywhere.
For a special treat we can organise a visit to one
or more of the Government protected sites at Abuko
Reserve, Brufut Woods, Lamin Lodge
(get up early for the dawn chorus and stay for breakfast) all less
than 50 minutes away. Or visit our local Tanji River reserve only
15 minutes away.
We can arrange tours for you or you can
take an exclusive trip
in our own transport with our own guide. A 'Roots' trip to Fort
James Island, to see where the slave trade began.
A North Bank trip taking in Banjul a reptile farm and an African
buffet on the beach.
Take a 2 day trip to Tendaba Camp and Kiang National Park, you may be
lucky and see Hippo's in the wild.

Take a Donkey Cart outing to the local village.
Visit the market, the school and the mosque, meet with the village
people. Lamin your guide lives in the village so you can be sure of
a good half day out.
Visit the Reptile Centre, a locally funded
centre, their purpose is to inform the Gambian people of the
types and species of the local reptiles and try to dispel their
fear. Are you afraid.

For the more adventurous.
Embark on a fascinating voyage of discovery up-river in search
of hippos, monkeys, baboons and chimpanzees. An outstanding
variety of habitats makes this country a birdwatcher's paradise
and a fertile playground for the sports fisherman.
All activities are available and can be booked through Footsteps.
