When is the best time to visit The Gambia?
Yes.  Check with Monarch or Cosmos

Bed Linen and Towels are provided.

The lodge is solar powered so
there are no mains electrical sockets in the rooms or lodge.
Bring your charger 
(240v -  3 or 2 pin, or car charger ) for your Phone or Camera,
charging
facilities are available in Reception.

Yes. The staff can do your washing and ironing.

The currency is Dalasi. These can be obtained from Thomas Cook Travel Agents
or your bank (not all banks issue them).

£ sterling are acceptable at the lodge and most of the major hotels.
£ sterling can be exchanged for Dalasi at the lodge.
ATM's are situated in the tourist spots, they are always busy and often out of order.

Credit cards are not accepted in most places except the big hotels. The GT Trust bank in Senegambia will allow you to withdraw cash with a Visa card.. Useful when the ATM is not working.

The area around Footsteps is dry so there are not many mosquitoes in the winter season.
Nets are provided for your use.

We suggest you contact your GP, Practice Nurse or Pharmacy for advice.

About 20 minutes walk through the bush along well defined paths or we can take you there.

In addition to the activities featured on the web site, Camel rides, Horse riding,
Boat or Canoe trips
can be arranged. Also trips to the local school, church, reptile centre,
crocodile park
, Lemon Art gallery.

The Gambia is open all year round. The dry season is from November to June.
