A
review of one of your holidays has been submitted by JENNIFER
ANN ROUSSEAU regarding Gambia holiday accommodation via
responsibletravel.com.
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The fabulous fresh water pool at the Lodge that attracted many
many amazing birds plus the wonderful dawn chorus of birds every
morning.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this
holiday?
You can't easily change money locally, so change as much as you
can as early as you can.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and
minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent trip - I would certainly go back again - the local
beaches are still unblighted by any commercial tourist
development, the Lodge staff are keen to help you do whatever
your choice is for your holiday and the weather was good.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
**** Some wonderful memories, I would not hesitate to recommend
it to a friend,
Jennifer.
What a lovely place! The
staff are so warm and friendly and went out of their way to
cater for our group of 20 including several vegetarians. The
food was fantastic, fresh grapefruit picked from the tree for
breakfast and wonderful evening buffets with all fresh produce.
One member of our party had his 21st birthday on our last
evening and Footsteps provided a gorgeous homemade African
chocolate gateaux - yum yum!!

Thank you all so much for a wonderful, relaxing and interesting time. We
were able to switch off completely from issues that had been absorbing
us in England and although I was not free from pain, I definitely
benefited from the climate as did Nicolas.
We loved our week with you and admire what you are trying to achieve and
what you have already achieved. The chats we had with all of you and
with the other guests were all so interesting - it is always fascinating
to learn about other people's lives and their life choices; the variety
of experiences and those choices is overwhelming.
We shall certainly pass word about Footsteps amongst out friends and who
knows whether the wind will blow us too back to the Gambia. Whether it
does or not, we shall certainly cherish our memories of our time with
you.
Please tell Binta how much good her massages did. My feet look softer
and smother than they have for many years!
Our thanks too to Dudu, Laim, Boubar and all the rest of the staff who
made our stay comfortable and welcoming.
Best wishes
